I first discovered Linux sometime around the middle of 1992 but my earliest real installation was in September of that year and was of the MCC Interim distribution 0.97p2
It wasn’t until October of the following year that I registered with The Linux Counter and was allocated user number 3411.
The next distribution I tried was SLS 0.99p9 and after that I used Slackware for several years. I had brief encounters with Red Hat and with SuSE 6.2 but settled on Debian which I have now used almost exclusively for many years.
